Brake Press Operator

• Setting up and operating brake press machines, including CNC and manual models, to perform bending operations on sheet metal
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings to determine specifications and tooling requirements
• Selecting and installing appropriate tooling, such as dies and punches, based on material type and thickness
• Loading and unloading materials onto the machine bed, ensuring proper alignment and secure positioning
• Monitoring machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments
• Inspecting first part and finished parts using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure conformance to specifications before submitting to inspection
• Performing routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and company policies

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating brake press machines in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working in the aerospace industry is strongly preferred, or a comparable industry with strict quality standards, tight tolerances, and rigorous requirements (e.g. defense, automotive, etc.)
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
• Familiarity with CNC programming and machine setup procedures
• Physical ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
