We are looking for a meticulous and reliable Bookkeeper to join a small commercial property management company based in Walnut Creek, California. This contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records for approximately 12 commercial properties. The ideal candidate will manage transactional accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations, while ensuring the organization’s financial operations run smoothly.
Job Responsibility:
Process vendor invoices, ensuring correct coding and timely payments
Manage vendor records, including W-9 documentation and reconciliation of vendor statements
Record tenant rent payments and other charges, maintaining accurate tenant ledgers
Track delinquent accounts and coordinate follow-ups or assist with collections communication when necessary
Perform monthly reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and credit card statements
Ensure all financial transactions are recorded promptly and accurately
Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records
Support property managers by tracking payments and resolving discrepancies
Address and resolve issues related to vendor and tenant accounts
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within commercial property management
Proficiency in Yardi software preferred
Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed bank and credit card reconciliations
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
Effective communication skills for vendor and tenant interactions
