Job Responsibility
Oversee routine bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of client accounts across various industries
Enter, review, and reconcile banking, credit card, and loan activity to keep financial data accurate and current
Prepare recurring account reconciliations and help ensure records are aligned on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Handle payables and receivables processing, including transaction entry and follow-up support
Maintain the general ledger and assist with closing activities at month-end and year-end
Support payroll-related tasks, including payroll processing assistance and related tax reporting
Prepare sales tax returns and other standard compliance filings in accordance with reporting deadlines
Produce financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements for client review and internal accounting support
Work with clients to address accounting questions, collect needed documentation, and assist with accounting software setup or issue resolution
Coordinate with accountants and tax professionals while protecting confidential financial information at all times
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a public accounting environment
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred
Solid knowledge of core accounting concepts and day-to-day bookkeeping procedures
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in financial recordkeeping
Strong communication skills with the ability to support clients professionally and manage multiple deadlines
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
