We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support daily financial operations for a Contract position based in Brighton, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing core accounting activities, maintaining accurate records, and keeping transactions organized in a fast-paced environment. The Bookkeeper will play an important part in ensuring timely payment processing, reliable receivables tracking, and precise account reconciliation.
Job Responsibility
Record financial transactions accurately and maintain up-to-date bookkeeping records across day-to-day accounting activities
Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and monitor accounts payable to ensure obligations are handled on schedule
Track incoming payments, issue invoices when needed, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable activities
Complete regular bank and account reconciliations to confirm records align with financial statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
Use QuickBooks to enter, review, and organize financial data while supporting consistent reporting and documentation
Maintain orderly financial files and supporting records so information is accessible for review, audit, or internal reference
Assist with routine financial reporting by compiling transaction details and verifying the accuracy of account information
Requirements
Hands-on experience in bookkeeping within a detail-oriented business environment
Proficiency in QuickBooks for recording transactions and managing financial records
Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice handling and payment coordination
Familiarity with accounts receivable tasks such as billing, payment posting, and balance follow-up
Experience performing bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail
Ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple financial tasks and deadlines
Strong organizational and communication skills to support smooth day-to-day accounting operations
