Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented PT Bookkeeper to join a tax-focused team in Schaumburg, Illinois on a Contract basis. This position supports day-to-day bookkeeping operations for multiple client accounts and is well suited for someone who enjoys precise, process-driven work. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable handling repetitive financial tasks with accuracy while learning established workflows.

Job Responsibility:

  • Enter financial data accurately and efficiently across a high volume of transactions for multiple client accounts
  • Review bank statements and use them as the primary source to record and organize account activity
  • Assign transactions to the proper categories to support accurate financial reporting and bookkeeping records
  • Complete bank reconciliations on a regular basis and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Manage bookkeeping tasks for approximately 10 monthly clients while maintaining consistency and attention to detail
  • Document training guidance thoroughly and keep organized notes for future reference and daily use
  • Follow established procedures closely and apply direction carefully to ensure accurate, compliant work
  • Use bookkeeping and spreadsheet tools such as QuickBooks, Excel, and Sage, with training available as needed

Requirements:

  • Previous bookkeeping experience or relevant training in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliations, transaction coding, and general ledger support
  • Basic working knowledge of Excel and comfort learning accounting software platforms
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in routine, high-volume tasks
  • Strong communication skills and a dependable work style
  • Receptive to feedback and able to follow instructions carefully in a structured environment
  • Experience with or exposure to QuickBooks, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or similar bookkeeping functions is preferred
