We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for an onsite contract-to-possible permanent opportunity in Birmingham, Alabama. This role is ideal for candidates with prior bookkeeping experience or entry-level accounting professionals with a degree in Accounting who are looking to grow their career in a hands-on environment. The Bookkeeper will support day-to-day financial operations, maintain accurate records, and assist with a variety of accounting functions. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with numbers in a fast-paced office setting.
Job Responsibility
Maintain and update financial records with a high level of accuracy
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting
Prepare journal entries and support bookkeeping documentation
Monitor invoices, payments, and expense tracking
Help ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures
Communicate with internal staff and vendors regarding accounting-related matters
Perform data entry and other administrative accounting duties as needed
Requirements
Prior bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience preferred or entry-level candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting are encouraged to apply
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
