We are looking for a Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations for an organization in Bakersfield, California. The role requires hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Excel, along with the ability to contribute during busy reporting periods and assist with year-end accounting tasks.
Job Responsibility
Manage daily bookkeeping activities by accurately recording financial transactions and maintaining up-to-date accounting records
Process vendor invoices and payments while ensuring accounts payable entries are complete, timely, and properly documented
Monitor incoming payments, prepare customer invoices, and keep accounts receivable balances current through consistent follow-up
Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and maintain accurate cash records
Use QuickBooks and Excel to organize financial data, prepare reports, and support routine accounting analysis
Assist with year-end accounting preparation by gathering documentation, reviewing records, and helping ensure files are audit-ready
Prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines during high-volume periods while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Requirements
At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience in a business environment with strong attention to detail
Intermediate proficiency with QuickBooks for daily accounting and transaction management
Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to work with spreadsheets and organize financial information efficiently
Practical experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on accuracy in financial records
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines during peak workloads
Clear communication skills and a dependable, detail-oriented approach to work
