We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Port Orchard, Washington. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations for a growing asphalt paving company. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term collaboration and career growth.
Job Responsibility:
Process payroll and taxes for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including tracking invoices and payments
Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain financial records using QuickBooks
Prepare financial reports, budgets, and other documentation as needed
Assist with government permitting and compliance, including prevailing wage requirements
Coordinate communication by routing messages and maintaining schedules
Support estimators by preparing write-ups and documentation for projects
Collaborate with the owners and team members to streamline financial processes
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a construction or contractor environment
Proficiency in QuickBooks, with experience in both Online and Enterprise versions
Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle communication tasks such as routing calls and managing schedules
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management
Flexibility to work onsite and adapt to varying schedules, including increased hours during summer months
Nice to have:
Familiarity with prevailing wage regulations and Davis Bacon compliance is a plus
