Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in Madison, Illinois. This is a Contract position ideal for an organized and detail-oriented individual with solid experience in financial management and record-keeping. The role involves ensuring accurate accounting practices and supporting the team with essential bookkeeping tasks.

Job Responsibility:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with precision and timeliness
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate tracking of financial transactions
Prepare and issue customer invoices, maintaining clear and organized records
Complete journal entries and ensure proper documentation for all financial activities
Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring compliance with company standards
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for reporting and auditing purposes
Work collaboratively with other departments to provide financial insights and support
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly
Adhere to all relevant financial regulations and company policies

Requirements:

Proven experience in bookkeeping with a solid understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in managing bank reconciliations and financial transactions
Ability to prepare accurate customer invoices and maintain organized records
Experience in completing journal entries and month-end close processes
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with applicable financial regulations and compliance standards
