We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join a short-term Contract assignment in Indianapolis, Indiana. The position will focus on reviewing existing entries, resolving inconsistencies, and preparing clean, reliable information for reporting and audit readiness.
Job Responsibility
Examine QuickBooks records in detail and update transactions to improve completeness and accuracy
Reconcile bank statements and credit card activity to ensure balances match supporting documentation
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including processing invoices, tracking payments, and maintaining current account information
Investigate accounting inconsistencies and make corrections to restore dependable financial data
Maintain organized financial files and supporting records for easy retrieval and review
Prepare financial reports for leadership as requested, highlighting relevant account activity and balances
Verify that accounting information is structured properly for future reporting needs and potential audit review
Requirements
Hands-on experience using QuickBooks, including Desktop, Online, or both environments
Solid understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
Demonstrated ability to identify errors in financial records and correct them efficiently
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage records accurately and consistently
Effective organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work in a deadline-driven setting
Capability to work independently while maintaining quality and timeliness of deliverables
