We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a non-profit organization in Spring City, Tennessee. This is a contract position offering flexible work arrangements and the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause. The successful candidate will bring at least three years of bookkeeping experience and a strong ability to manage financial records with accuracy and efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Process vendor invoices, manage outgoing payments, and ensure timely payment schedules for accounts payable
Create and track invoices, follow up on overdue payments, and accurately record donations and other income for accounts receivable
Monitor incoming cash and donations, ensuring proper documentation and secure handling procedures
Reconcile the organization’s checking account monthly to maintain financial accuracy
Maintain and balance the checkbook regularly, ensuring all issued checks are properly recorded
Conduct general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting
Collaborate with the organization’s team to provide accurate financial records and assist with tax compliance and reporting responsibilities
Support payroll processing for up to 10 employees on a biweekly or monthly basis, ensuring timely and accurate wage disbursements
Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support the organization’s operations.
Requirements:
Minimum of three years of experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role, demonstrating attention to detail
Proficiency in bookkeeping software, such as QuickBooks, and strong skills in Microsoft Excel
Proven attention to detail when handling financial documentation, reconciliations, and reporting tasks
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with organizational staff and stakeholders
Degree or certification in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
Familiarity with non-profit financial operations is a plus
Ability to work onsite three days a week with a flexible schedule determined by mutual agreement.
