We are partnering with a small business in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to help them hire an experienced Bookkeeper to run a one‑person office. This individual will manage all day‑to‑day accounting and administrative functions, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage financial records and ensure accuracy in all accounting processes.
Job Responsibility:
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records align with bank statements
Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting
Assist in the month-end closing process, including generating financial statements and reports
Utilize QuickBooks for day-to-day bookkeeping activities and financial tracking
Monitor financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and records
Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulation
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software
Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and journal entries
Expertise in performing bank reconciliations accurately
Ability to manage month-end close processes effectively
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
