We are looking for a Bookkeeper to support a growing organization in the Twin Cities area. This contract or contract to hire opportunity is ideal for someone who brings strong attention to detail, accuracy in financial recordkeeping, and confidence managing day-to-day accounting activities. The person in this role will play a key part in maintaining organized financial records, supporting timely processing of transactions, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day accounting operations.
Job Responsibility
Maintain accurate financial records by recording day-to-day transactions across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity
Process vendor invoices and customer payments in a timely manner while ensuring proper documentation and approvals are in place
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed
Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and supporting financial reporting
Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on past-due balances to support consistent cash flow
Maintain and update vendor and customer records to ensure accurate billing and payment processing
Support payroll processing or coordination, ensuring accuracy and timeliness where applicable
Organize and maintain financial documentation to support audits and ongoing reporting needs
Requirements
Experience in bookkeeping or a closely related accounting role, supporting day-to-day financial operations
Strong understanding of general ledger processes, including account reconciliation and journal entries
Hands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Ability to accurately record financial transactions and maintain organized supporting documentation
Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Excel
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies and ensure accuracy in financial records
Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external contacts
