We are looking for a Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for an organization based in California. This is a long-term contract opportunity scheduled for approximately 20 hours per week, ideal for someone who can maintain accurate records and keep accounting processes running smoothly. The person in this role will manage core bookkeeping activities, work confidently in QuickBooks, and help ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Record and maintain financial transactions with a high level of accuracy across routine bookkeeping activities
Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and track outgoing obligations to support efficient accounts payable operations
Issue customer invoices, monitor incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as part of accounts receivable management
Reconcile bank and financial account activity regularly to identify discrepancies and keep records current
Update and organize accounting data in QuickBooks to support reliable reporting and audit readiness
Review entries and supporting documentation to help ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper classification of transactions
Assist with ongoing accounting process needs and related financial record maintenance as business requirements evolve
Requirements:
Hands-on experience performing bookkeeping duties in a detail-focused business environment
Working knowledge of QuickBooks with the ability to manage day-to-day accounting records effectively
Practical experience handling accounts payable, including invoice review and payment processing
Practical experience managing accounts receivable, including billing and payment tracking
Ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and investigate variances when needed
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a dependable approach to managing financial information
Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week in support of a long-term contract assignment
