We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Mashpee, Massachusetts. This role is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to support a busy non-profit organization by managing essential financial operations. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal departments and external accountants.
Job Responsibility:
Perform accurate bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up to date
Manage and execute weekly check runs and maintain timely payments
Generate monthly trial balances and comprehensive financial reports
Oversee grant application processes, including writing and tracking submissions
Collaborate with various departments and external accountants to ensure seamless financial operations
Provide backup support for accounts payable and payroll processing as needed
Utilize Abila MIP accounting software to manage financial tasks efficiently
Maintain and organize financial records to ensure compliance and accuracy
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support organizational goals
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in a non-profit setting
Proficiency in Abila MIP accounting software is highly preferred
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Expertise in performing accurate bank reconciliations
Ability to create and manage grant applications effectively
Excellent organizational and communication skills to work with a diverse team
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records
