We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Newark, New Jersey. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to contribute both remotely and onsite one day per week. The role focuses on managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, and supporting audit preparation for a high-volume environment.
Job Responsibility:
Process and manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice intake, coding, and entry into financial systems
Set up and maintain vendor records, adhering to established approval controls
Initiate vendor payments through the treasury platform, ensuring compliance with approval procedures
Track and post accounts receivable transactions to maintain accurate records
Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards to ensure financial accuracy
Post and classify transactions in QuickBooks Online with attention to detail
Address and resolve discrepancies in prior-period bookkeeping records
Assist in organizing audit documentation and maintaining structured digital financial files
Ensure all financial records are kept in an organized and accessible manner
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounts payable roles
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is mandatory
Demonstrated ability to handle high transaction volumes efficiently
Experience in preparing documentation for audits
Familiarity with working under structured approval controls
Strong skills in reconciliation and maintaining accurate financial records
Comfortable adhering to defined authority limits while managing financial tasks
