We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a Contract assignment supporting construction-focused accounting work in Wilmington, North Carolina. In this onsite role, you will help bring multiple client accounts through year-end close by organizing records, resolving discrepancies, and keeping financial data accurate. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is comfortable working across different accounting platforms and can manage deadlines in a busy environment.
Job Responsibility:
Manage year-end closing tasks for a portfolio of construction-related client accounts, ensuring books are finalized accurately and on time
Examine financial records across multiple entities, reconcile balances, and resolve inconsistencies in the general ledger
Perform accounting clean-up activities to improve the accuracy, completeness, and organization of client financial information
Process and maintain core bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Use accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50, and Oracle to complete daily and closing activities
Partner with internal accounting staff to track progress, address issues quickly, and meet established client deadlines
Support the preparation of complete and reliable records that align with year-end reporting requirements
Requirements:
Hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably within construction or project-based accounting environments
Demonstrated ability to support year-end close and perform detailed general ledger reconciliations
Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50, and Oracle
Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank account reconciliations
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and maintain accurate financial records
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced onsite setting while managing multiple priorities
Availability to work a contract assignment expected to last approximately 4 to 6 weeks
