We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to support ongoing financial operations for a contract opportunity based in the Murray area. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working with detailed financial records, and confident producing accurate reporting that helps guide day-to-day business decisions. The role will focus on maintaining reliable accounting processes, monitoring cash activity, and supporting budgeting and month-end financial tasks.
Job Responsibility
Process outgoing payments and incoming receipts, ensuring invoices, collections, and vendor transactions are completed accurately and on time
Maintain complete and well-organized accounting records in QuickBooks to support daily financial operations and reporting needs
Reconcile bank accounts and credit card activity regularly to confirm balances and resolve discrepancies promptly
Monitor general ledger entries and keep financial data accurate, current, and properly categorized
Track project-related costs such as labor, materials, and other job expenses to support job costing and profitability analysis
Prepare financial reports, including income statements, cash flow summaries, and project cost reports for leadership review
Assist with month-end close activities by verifying transactions, updating records, and supporting timely financial reporting
Contribute to budgeting efforts by organizing financial information and highlighting trends or variances that may affect planning
Requirements
At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience in a business environment
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and confidence managing day-to-day accounting activity within the system
Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and vendor payment processing
Demonstrated ability to perform bank and credit card reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy
Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and financial reporting fundamentals
Experience supporting job costing, cost tracking, or similar project-based accounting activities
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage sensitive financial information responsibly
