We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a contract assignment in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage core accounting activities with accuracy, maintain organized records, and help keep financial reporting on track. The right candidate will be comfortable working across payables, receivables, reconciliations, payroll support, and spreadsheet-based analysis in a deadline-driven environment.
Job Responsibility
Maintain accurate financial records by processing routine bookkeeping transactions and keeping supporting documentation organized
Oversee incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring vendor invoices are handled promptly and customer accounts are monitored for timely collection
Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records on a regular basis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently
Assist with payroll-related recordkeeping and verify compensation data for completeness and accuracy before processing
Use QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to track activity, prepare reports, and support daily accounting operations
Review financial entries for accuracy and help prepare documentation needed for audits and internal reviews
Communicate with internal stakeholders and external contacts to clarify payment details, account questions, and outstanding balances
Requirements
Proven experience performing bookkeeping duties in a detail-focused business environment
Hands-on knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliation processes
Proficiency with QuickBooks and strong working ability in Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with payroll support activities and maintaining accurate financial records
Ability to identify inconsistencies in financial data and take corrective action with attention to detail
Experience supporting audit preparation or working with financial documentation subject to review
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a contract role
