Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper on a contract basis to join a Financial Services company in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this role, you will manage financial records with precision and ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts. This position is ideal for individuals with strong analytical skills and expertise in bookkeeping processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform thorough bank reconciliations by reviewing source documents such as statements, general ledger queries, and system reports
  • Analyze financial data efficiently, utilizing tools within Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and other advanced functions
  • Reconcile discrepancies between bank statements and internal records to maintain accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare routine financial reports to provide insights into account balances and transactions
  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger by verifying entries and identifying inconsistencies
  • Collaborate with other departments to address reconciliation issues and streamline processes
  • Maintain organized records of all reconciliations and financial transactions for audit purposes
  • Conduct regular reviews of bank accounts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Utilize analytical skills to identify trends and anomalies in financial data
  • Support the team with additional bookkeeping tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role
  • Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and handling financial discrepancies
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of VLOOKUP and other data analysis tools
  • Strong understanding of general ledger processes and account reconciliation
  • Ability to review and interpret financial statements and system-generated reports
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities
  • Effective communication skills for working across departments and resolving issues
  • Familiarity with preparing routine financial reports and maintaining accurate records
