We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join a small construction company in Shoreview, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company’s financial transactions and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Job Responsibility:
Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable with precision, handling a moderate volume of transactions
Conduct weekly check runs and oversee a small number of credit card accounts
Organize and maintain receipts, insurance documentation, and other financial records
Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliation tasks
Generate financial reports and analyze data at the beginning of each month using QuickBooks and Adaptive Build
Input payroll data accurately while collaborating with an external payroll provider to ensure timely processing
Monitor budgets for multiple construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $3 million
Maintain compliance with construction accounting practices and provide support during audits or financial reviews
Collaborate with the team to improve workflows and adapt to financial automation tools
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within the construction industry
Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with Adaptive Build or similar financial automation software
Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Ability to perform journal entries and manage month-end close processes
Experience handling payroll data and working with external payroll providers
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work fully in-office initially, with potential for hybrid flexibility in the future
