We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a non-profit organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this contract position, you will play a critical role in managing financial records and ensuring accuracy in accounting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proficient in Sage and Excel.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
Process invoices, payments, and other transactions in a timely manner
Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all accounts are balanced and accurate
Utilize QuickBooks to manage and track financial data effectively
Generate financial reports and summaries for management review
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as needed
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial statements or transactions
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and record
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a non-profit organization
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software
Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations
Excellent organizational and time management skills
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks
Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance standards
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members
Must be open to drug and background screening to be considered
