We are looking for a dependable Bookkeeper to support daily accounting activities and keep financial records accurate and up to date for this Contract position. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, this role will handle core bookkeeping functions, contribute to reporting cycles, and help maintain organized financial documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, solid experience with routine accounting tasks, and confidence using bookkeeping software.
Job Responsibility
Record day-to-day financial activity and post entries that keep the general ledger current and accurate
Manage incoming and outgoing payments by overseeing both accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows
Compare bank, credit card, and related account activity against internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies
Create customer invoices, monitor payment status, and follow up professionally on overdue balances
Provide support for payroll-related tasks and track employee or business expenses with accuracy
Organize and maintain financial files so supporting documentation is easy to access and audit-ready
Assist with monthly and annual closing activities by preparing records and reconciling key accounts
Compile straightforward financial summaries and reports for leadership review
Follow established accounting practices and internal controls to help ensure compliant recordkeeping
Requirements
Demonstrated experience performing bookkeeping duties in a detail-focused setting
Working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Strong numerical aptitude and a careful, detail-focused approach to financial data
Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accurate records
Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating on invoices, payments, and reporting
