Our client is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support day-to-day financial operations in a hands-on role. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with reporting, managing transactional accounting activities, and supporting payroll, audit, and compliance processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong bookkeeping experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility
Maintain complete and accurate financial records, including invoices, disbursements, receipts, journal entries, and general ledger activity
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including billing, payment processing, collections follow-up, and vendor support
Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
Monitor cash activity and help track fund availability across multiple accounts
Prepare routine financial reports, account summaries, and supporting schedules for leadership review
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation
Support tax-related processes, filings, and required year-end documentation
Process payroll and maintain records related to employee compensation, deductions, and benefit-related accounting
Prepare audit schedules and organize supporting documentation for internal and external review
Track fixed assets and record depreciation or amortization as needed
Assist with budget entry, reporting, and variance tracking
Maintain organized accounting files and ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable regulations
Provide general administrative and office support as needed, including special projects assigned by leadership
Requirements
Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
3+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related administrative finance experience
Experience with full-cycle accounting processes preferred
Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, and other financial reporting tools
Working knowledge of general accounting principles and financial recordkeeping practices
Familiarity with payroll processing, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline
Additional years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience
Experience in nonprofit, public sector, or fund-based accounting environments
Professional certifications such as CB, CPB, or CPA are a plus
