Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Portland, Maine. This is a contract position that offers an opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations, including payroll processing and accounts payable management. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and an ability to handle both paper-based processes and digital systems effectively.

Job Responsibility:

Process payroll using ADP systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
Manage accounts payable, including coding, processing, and timely payments
Perform general accounting tasks to maintain accurate financial records
Reconcile bank accounts and ensure proper documentation of transactions
Utilize Sage 300 software for accounting operations and reporting
Assist in the transition to NetSuite financial systems, contributing to setup and implementation
Maintain organized records and support paper-based workflows as required
Collaborate with team members to address financial discrepancies and improve processes
Provide support during audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Requirements:

Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial management
Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Hands-on experience with payroll systems, particularly ADP
Familiarity with Sage 300 and NetSuite software
Strong skills in bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate records
Ability to adapt to paper-based workflows and digital transitions
Excellent organizational and communication skills
High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
