Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Bohemia, New York. This is a contract position that begins as a one-month assignment, offering the potential for long-term employment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in assisting weekly payroll and managing bookkeeping operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks, ensuring all transactions are properly documented
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and payment tracking
  • Reconcile bank statements to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial data
  • Support the general ledger by entering transactions and performing necessary adjustments
  • Handle payroll processing on a weekly basis
  • Assist with financial reporting and provide support during audits as needed
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline bookkeeping processes
  • Utilize Service Fusion for bookkeeping tasks, if applicable, to enhance operational efficiency
  • Address discrepancies and resolve issues related to financial transactions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience in a detail-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing financial records and transactions
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Experience with high-volume invoicing and maintaining organized records
  • Ability to work onsite in Bohemia, New York
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with payroll processing systems such as Accu Data is preferred
  • Experience with Service Fusion is a plus, but not mandatory
