We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Bohemia, New York. This is a contract position that begins as a one-month assignment, offering the potential for long-term employment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in assisting weekly payroll and managing bookkeeping operations.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks, ensuring all transactions are properly documented
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and payment tracking
Reconcile bank statements to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial data
Support the general ledger by entering transactions and performing necessary adjustments
Handle payroll processing on a weekly basis
Assist with financial reporting and provide support during audits as needed
Collaborate with team members to streamline bookkeeping processes
Utilize Service Fusion for bookkeeping tasks, if applicable, to enhance operational efficiency
Address discrepancies and resolve issues related to financial transactions
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience in a detail-oriented environment
Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing financial records and transactions
Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Experience with high-volume invoicing and maintaining organized records
Ability to work onsite in Bohemia, New York
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Nice to have:
Familiarity with payroll processing systems such as Accu Data is preferred
Experience with Service Fusion is a plus, but not mandatory
