We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team in Concord, North Carolina. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering a part-time schedule of 20-25 hours per week, ideally Monday through Friday. The role involves managing financial transactions and ensuring accurate record-keeping for a local government organization.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
Perform daily financial transactions, including recording receipts, payments, and other ledger entries
Reconcile bank statements and other account balances to ensure data accuracy
Prepare month-end close processes, including generating necessary reports and reviewing account summaries
Manage payroll functions, ensuring calculations and disbursements are handled appropriately
Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for efficient financial tracking and reporting
Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies
Ensure compliance with local government financial policies and procedures
Handle data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date financial records
Assist with other bookkeeping tasks as needed to support financial operations.
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable
Proficiency in using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for financial management
Strong ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Knowledge of payroll processes and month-end close procedures
Familiarity with local government financial policies is a plus
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
