Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team in Concord, North Carolina. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering a part-time schedule of 20-25 hours per week, ideally Monday through Friday. The role involves managing financial transactions and ensuring accurate record-keeping for a local government organization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
  • Perform daily financial transactions, including recording receipts, payments, and other ledger entries
  • Reconcile bank statements and other account balances to ensure data accuracy
  • Prepare month-end close processes, including generating necessary reports and reviewing account summaries
  • Manage payroll functions, ensuring calculations and disbursements are handled appropriately
  • Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for efficient financial tracking and reporting
  • Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with local government financial policies and procedures
  • Handle data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date financial records
  • Assist with other bookkeeping tasks as needed to support financial operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Proficiency in using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for financial management
  • Strong ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and month-end close procedures
  • Familiarity with local government financial policies is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
