Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to provide ongoing financial support for a business based in Lambertville, Michigan. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can work independently for a limited monthly schedule while keeping core accounting activities accurate and up to date. The person in this role will help maintain smooth day-to-day financial operations by managing billing, payments, and tax-related recordkeeping.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage invoicing activities for approximately 140 client accounts and ensure billing records remain accurate and current
  • Record incoming payments, including transactions that may be received on either a monthly or annual basis
  • Support accounts payable processes by tracking obligations and preparing payments in a timely manner
  • Oversee accounts receivable tasks and follow up on outstanding balances as needed
  • Assist with tax filing preparation by organizing financial data and maintaining required documentation
  • Reconcile bank activity with internal accounting records to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records in QuickBooks and help ensure financial information is properly categorized

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience in a detail-focused setting
  • Hands-on experience using QuickBooks for routine accounting and recordkeeping tasks
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and client billing processes
  • Experience posting payments and maintaining accurate transaction records
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliations and resolving account discrepancies
  • Ability to manage financial tasks independently within a part-time monthly workload
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling financial information
