We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to join our team for a long-term contract. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and a passion for maintaining accurate financial records. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's financial processes.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain Accurate Financial Records: Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
Reconcile Accounts: Regularly perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate balances
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and payment of bills
Prepare Financial Reports: Generate financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for management review
Budget Monitoring and Reporting: Support budget tracking efforts by maintaining accurate expense records and identifying variances
Payroll Support: Assist with payroll preparation and ensure proper classification of salaries, wages, and other related expenses
Compliance: Ensure all financial records adhere to legal standards, regulations, and best practices in accounting
Assist with Tax Filing: Prepare records and documentation required for tax filings under the guidance of an accountant or tax consultant
Support Audits: Provide data and records to assist internal or external auditors as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance/accounting role
Proficiency with accounting software
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and processes
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
