We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. This role will oversee core accounting activities, help maintain accurate financial records, and ensure transactions are processed in a timely manner. The ideal candidate brings strong bookkeeping experience, a careful approach to reconciliations, and confidence managing payables, receivables, and payroll-related administration.
Job Responsibility:
Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and coordinate timely payments to maintain accurate accounts payable records
Monitor incoming customer payments, apply cash receipts correctly, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable activity
Perform routine bank and account reconciliations, including review of recurring and automatic withdrawals, to ensure financial data remains accurate
Support biweekly payroll administration by coordinating deductions, benefits, and related payroll details with the outsourced payroll provider
Maintain organized and up-to-date bookkeeping records, ensuring financial transactions are entered accurately and consistently
Use Deltek to track, review, and manage accounting information as part of daily financial operations
Assist with resolving discrepancies in financial records by researching issues and coordinating corrections when needed
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping with hands-on responsibility for day-to-day accounting transactions
Practical knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Experience completing bank reconciliations and reviewing account activity for accuracy
Familiarity with payroll support functions, including benefits and employee deductions
Working knowledge of Deltek in an accounting or bookkeeping environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential financial information responsibly
Ability to organize multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a Contract role
