Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Westbrook, Maine. In this role, you will handle essential financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all bookkeeping operations. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in QuickBooks.

Job Responsibility:

Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring compliance with established procedures
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with precision
Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies
Utilize QuickBooks for daily bookkeeping tasks and reporting needs
Prepare financial reports and summaries to support business decision-making
Monitor cash flow and assist in budget tracking activities
Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
Address any issues related to billing, payments, or account discrepancies promptly
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations
Provide support during audits or financial reviews as needed

Requirements:

Proven experience in bookkeeping roles, preferably in a similar capacity
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software
Solid knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with financial reporting and budget tracking principles
Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
Understanding of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards
