We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a business in Fenton, Michigan. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who can manage accounting activities accurately, maintain organized records, and work confidently in QuickBooks. The ideal candidate brings strong full-charge bookkeeping experience and a consistent, reliable approach to handling financial data.
Job Responsibility
Maintain complete and accurate financial records, including daily transactions, journal entries, and account balances
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to help ensure timely payments and proper documentation
Reconcile bank statements, credit card activity, and general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies
Process payroll-related bookkeeping tasks and support month-end and year-end closing activities as needed
Prepare financial reports and summaries that assist leadership with tracking business performance and cash flow
Manage bookkeeping activities within QuickBooks, keeping records current and properly categorized
Monitor accounting documentation for accuracy, compliance, and readiness for internal review or external reporting
Requirements
Proven experience in bookkeeping with the ability to manage full-cycle accounting tasks independently
Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence working within accounting software on a daily basis
Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping best practices
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in handling sensitive financial information
Ability to prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and maintain consistency in a fast-paced work environment
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate professionally with internal stakeholders
