Job Description:

Looking for remote work that feels more like teamwork? We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our growing accounting team. Based in South Africa? Apply now! Job Responsibility:

  • Process daily financial transactions accurately using Xero, including sales, purchases, expenses, and bank entries
  • Maintain up-to-date ledgers and ensure data integrity within the Xero system
  • Perform bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations
  • Process supplier invoices, match payments, and allocate receipts
  • Capture and code expenses through Dext or similar tools
  • Assist in preparing and submitting VAT workings for review
  • Support accountants with month-end processes such as accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet schedules
  • Maintain organized digital filing systems for all accounting documents
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers to resolve transaction queries

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting processing experience
  • Proficiency in Xero (essential) and understanding of its reporting and reconciliation features
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
  • Experience using Dext, Hubdoc, or similar data capture tools
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience working within an accounting practice or multi-client environment
  • Exposure to UK VAT, payroll, or financial statement preparation
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks, Sage, or other accounting systems
