Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a growing team in North York. Duration: 6 months contract with potential to convert to permanent after performance review.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain accurate financial records by recording all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
  • Assist with payroll processing, including calculating hours, preparing pay stubs, and remitting payroll taxes
  • Prepare financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets, on a regular basis for management review
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and comply with all relevant accounting regulations and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience across all aspects of the function including Canadian payroll
  • A bachelor’s degree in either business administration or accounting is preferred
  • Experience working with ERP systems in an accounting/ finance setting is required
  • Experience working within a smaller organization or a start-up environment will be very helpful
  • Ability to be flexible with responsibilities and changes within the work place
  • Excellent communication skills is required
