We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to specialized accounting projects while supporting financial operations. The ideal candidate will be thorough, adaptable, and dedicated to delivering high-quality results.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with accounts payable processes, including data entry and ensuring accurate backup documentation
Reconcile credit card transactions with QuickBooks Online and maintain accurate records
Process timecard entries and allocate payroll expenses by funding source and project site
Support accounts receivable tasks, including gathering information for invoice processing and reconciling revenue sources such as donations and check payments
Maintain donor information within the organization’s CRM system, such as Salesforce, ensuring accuracy and completeness
File vendor compliance information for contractors and manage related supportive documents
Process tax exemption forms and track savings from exemptions
Prepare essential documentation required for tax filings and audits
Manage detailed recordkeeping to ensure financial operations comply with organizational standards and regulations
Requirements:
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
2+ years of direct accounting experience may be considered
Prior experience in nonprofit accounting highly desirable
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Microsoft Office tools essential
Advanced Excel skills, including the use of templates, filters, tables, and data management
Familiarity with Salesforce and Smartsheet preferred
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a proactive approach to meeting deadlines
Flexibility to adapt to evolving processes and requirements
Nice to have:
Prior experience in nonprofit accounting
Familiarity with Salesforce and Smartsheet
