Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Freeport, Maine. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting key accounting processes, and ensuring smooth financial operations. Job Responsibility:

Perform account reconciliations to ensure financial data accuracy
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes efficiently
Conduct timely bank reconciliations to maintain up-to-date records
Execute payroll tasks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Oversee month-end close activities to finalize financial reports
Maintain accurate data entry and financial documentation
Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to streamline processes
Prepare and analyze financial reports to support decision-making
Collaborate with team members to improve accounting workflows and procedures

Requirements:

Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting roles
Proficiency in account reconciliation, including bank and ledger accounts
Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
Familiarity with QuickBooks and other accounting software
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Experience in payroll processing and month-end close activities
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently
