We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. This contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience managing financial operations. Initially part-time, this role offers potential for growth and eventual long-term opportunities.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee high-volume accounts payable processes, including performing detailed 3-way matching between purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices
Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and address missing inventory concerns
Take ownership of month-end closing procedures, ensuring draft financials are prepared by the 10th and finalized statements by the 15th of each month
Handle daily cost allocation activities and conduct monthly inventory to ensure accuracy
Maintain general ledger schedules and accurately record payroll
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records align with actual transactions
Support inventory management by tracking and allocating costs
Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Requirements:
Associate’s degree in Accounting or higher is preferred
Proven experience in bookkeeping
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, including the ability to work with formulas and perform data entry
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including 3-way matching
Familiarity with cost allocation and inventory reconciliation is highly desirable
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
Effective communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams
