Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis on Long Island. This is an outstanding opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and values accuracy, organization, and confidentiality.
Job Responsibility:
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate entry of financial transactions
Reconcile bank statements and prepare account reconciliations
Handle payroll processing and related reporting
Produce timely financial reports for management review
Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
Support with tax filings and compliance requirements
Monitor cash flow and provide input on financial planning
Collaborate with external accountants, auditors, and internal stakeholders
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role
Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Workday, Sage) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality
Relevant degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Ability to work on site 5 days per week in Nassau and Suffolk Counties
