We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in San Francisco, California. The ideal candidate will manage financial records, oversee accounts, and ensure accurate reporting. This role requires strong organizational skills and proficiency in bookkeeping tools to support the company’s financial operations.
Job Responsibility:
Handle vendor invoices, employee expense claims, and payment processing in line with company procedures
Confirm all payables are properly coded, approved, and entered into QuickBooks
Track payment timelines and manage schedules to support strong vendor relationships
Reconcile supplier accounts and address discrepancies early
Process payroll information submitted by external providers and ensure it meets regulatory standards
Keep payroll documents and compliance files organized and up to date
Create and send client invoices accurately and on schedule
Monitor unpaid balances and follow up on overdue amounts to support cash flow
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any billing issues
Coordinate with teams in other offices to manage inter‑office charges and settlements
Assist with tracking project costs and preparing profitability summaries
Support monthly reporting activities, including cash flow updates, and contribute updates during internal meetings
Complete monthly bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
Organize documentation for audits, compliance checks, and statutory reporting
Support external accountants with tax filings and related requirements
Provide administrative and financial support across projects as needed
Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors, clients, and service partners
Manage confidential financial information responsibly and with discretion
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience handling AP/AR tasks or general bookkeeping
Strong hands‑on experience using QuickBooks for daily accounting work
Advanced ability to work with spreadsheets in Excel or Google Sheets
Good understanding of local tax rules and compliance requirements
Consistently delivers high‑accuracy work with strong attention to detail
Well‑organized with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively
Comfortable working independently and taking full responsibility for outcomes
Actively identifies solutions and resolves issues with initiative
Communicates clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats
Works well with colleagues across international or remote teams
Handles sensitive financial information with professionalism and integrity
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Productive and Expensify is an advantage
Background supporting project‑driven financial reporting is helpful
