We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a contract assignment based in Draper, Utah. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing core accounting tasks with accuracy and consistency in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on maintaining organized financial records, supporting payables and receivables, and ensuring account balances are properly reconciled. Experience working with QuickBooks and familiarity with construction-related accounting practices will be highly valuable in this position.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain accurate financial records by entering and updating transactions in QuickBooks on a regular basis
Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and monitor accounts payable activity to ensure timely disbursements
Issue customer invoices, record incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable management
Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records to identify discrepancies and keep accounts current
Assist with tracking job-related costs and financial activity in support of construction industry bookkeeping needs
Review financial data for completeness and accuracy, resolving routine issues as they arise
Prepare basic financial reports and summaries to help stakeholders monitor daily accounting activity
Support accounting process updates or system-related changes as needed while maintaining continuity in financial records
Requirements:
Proven experience performing bookkeeping duties in a business environment
Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks for transaction entry, account maintenance, and reporting
Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and well-organized financial records
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a contract role
Solid communication skills and a careful approach to handling financial information
Nice to have:
Experience in the construction industry or familiarity with construction accounting practices is preferred
