We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a team in Ballston Spa, New York in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys keeping financial and administrative work organized, resolving day-to-day issues, and supporting smooth office operations. Job Responsibility
Maintain financial and administrative records by handling filing, data entry, and daily bookkeeping activities with a high level of accuracy
Process accounts payable transactions, track receivables as needed, and support payroll administration using QuickBooks Desktop and Paychex
Reconcile bank activity and review financial information to help ensure complete and accurate accounting records
Partner with office leadership to assist with routine administrative tasks and keep daily operations running efficiently
Investigate issues, answer questions, and provide practical solutions for internal requests related to bookkeeping and office processes
Support compliance by following established procedures and maintaining documentation that aligns with company standards and regulatory expectations
Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly sales tax information in a timely and accurate manner
Assist with organizing and digitizing records, including support for document management practices such as SharePoint use where needed
Requirements
At least 2 years of recent hands-on experience using QuickBooks Desktop in a bookkeeping or accounting support role
Prior experience managing accounts payable, payroll processing, and general bookkeeping functions
Familiarity with accounts receivable activities and bank reconciliations
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and confidence learning new software systems
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to identify problems, think critically, and resolve issues effectively
Clear communication skills and a courteous approach when working with colleagues and stakeholders
Self-motivated attitude with the ability to take ownership of responsibilities and deliver results consistently
