We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in a contract-to-permanent position. This position will oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities, support accurate financial reporting, and help maintain organized records in a largely self-directed work environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a broad range of bookkeeping duties, collaborating with external partners, and using QuickBooks Desktop and Excel to keep financial activities accurate and up to date.
Job Responsibility:
Manage complete bookkeeping activities for multiple entities using QuickBooks Desktop, ensuring financial data remains accurate and current
Post deposits, process payables, and track routine cash activity to support daily accounting operations
Prepare and enter payroll-related journal entries while coordinating benefit contributions and payments with the appropriate funds office
Execute bank transfers and perform reconciliations across several accounts to maintain reliable balances and reporting
Maintain supporting schedules and financial documentation required for LM2-related reporting obligations
Partner with outside auditors by organizing records, answering inquiries, and providing requested financial information
Produce monthly financial reports and summaries for review by the Executive Board
Work independently while balancing multiple priorities and supporting a small team environment as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience in bookkeeping with responsibility for full-cycle accounting tasks
Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposit posting, and bank reconciliation activities
Ability to enter payroll journal entries accurately and coordinate related contribution reporting
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain organized financial records across multiple entities
Comfortable working in an independent setting while managing several responsibilities at once
Effective communication skills for working with auditors, internal stakeholders, and external benefit offices
