We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Norwalk, Connecticut. This Contract position offers flexibility in scheduling, requiring approximately 15 hours per week. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing strategic insights to support financial decision-making. This is a temp to hire position, but will remain with 15 hours per week. Job Responsibility:
Manage customer billing processes and ensure timely invoicing for services rendered
Handle accounts payable tasks, including car payments, insurance, gas expenses, and maintenance costs
Oversee accounts receivable by tracking direct monthly bills and addressing expired or invalid credit card issues
Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements to maintain financial accuracy
Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets, while offering strategic recommendations
Process payroll bi-weekly and ensure accurate documentation within financial records
Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger to ensure organized and accurate accounting
Collaborate minimally with external accountants to address occasional inquiries or adjustments
Utilize QuickBooks Online and Excel for efficient bookkeeping operations
Learn and manage billing software specific to the limousine industry
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of bookkeeping experience, with a proven track record of reliability and accuracy
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, with certification preferred but not required
Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Skilled in performing bank reconciliations and maintaining organized financial records
Experience in preparing financial statements and delivering actionable insights
Solid understanding of general ledger maintenance and journal entries
Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets effectively
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new industry-specific software systems
