As a Full-Time Engagement Professional (FTEP) Bookkeeper with Robert Half, you will be a full-time, salaried employee of Robert Half deployed on diverse client engagements across industries. This role is ideal for accounting professionals who enjoy variety, continuous learning, and the stability of a full-time role with the opportunity to support multiple organizations throughout the year. FTEP Bookkeepers provide essential support in maintaining accurate financial records, managing daily accounting activities, and ensuring timely completion of month-end processes. You’ll work closely with client teams, controllers, and accountants to deliver reliable financial information during periods of growth, transitions, special projects, or staffing shortages.
Job Responsibility:
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment runs, aging review, and collections follow-up
Enter and categorize transactions in the general ledger with accuracy and consistency
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other key balance sheet accounts
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
Support month-end and year-end close activities for multiple clients
Maintain organized financial documentation in alignment with client processes and compliance requirements
Generate standard financial reports (P& L, balance sheet, cash flow) for client review
Assist with variance analysis and provide insights into trends or irregularities
Support audit preparation by providing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations
Work within various accounting software platforms, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Sage, or client-specific systems
Utilize Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis
Adapt quickly to new environments, systems, and industries
Communicate professionally with client stakeholders, providing updates and recommendations
Uphold Robert Half’s service standards and represent the FTEP program with professionalism and reliability
Requirements:
2–5+ years of bookkeeping, accounting support, or general ledger experience
Experience working with multiple clients, supporting month‑end close, or handling catch‑up/cleanup work is strongly preferred
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online & Desktop) and comfort learning new systems quickly
Experience with at least one mid‑market ERP such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Sage, or Acumatica is a plus
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP‑based bookkeeping practices
Ability to produce accurate bank/credit card reconciliations, A/P and A/R aging reports, and general ledger reviews
Ability to manage: Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Bank/credit card reconciliations, General ledger maintenance, Journal entries, Month‑end close support
Strong attention to detail and high standards for accuracy
Ability to quickly diagnose and correct bookkeeping errors or messy data
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with controllers, CFOs, and client staff
Adaptability—comfortable working in different environments, industries, and systems
Proven ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and shifting priorities
Resourceful, self‑directed, and comfortable working independently while representing Robert Half
High level of professionalism and reliability—consistent with FTEP expectations
Strong customer service mindset and solution‑oriented approach
Ability to work onsite, hybrid, or remote depending on client needs
Willingness to accept assignments of varying length and complexity
Ability to pass client‑required screenings (background check, drug screen, etc., if applicable)
Valid work authorization in the United States
Nice to have:
