We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Rochester, New York. This is a part - time role for 5 hours per week. This opportunity is ideal for someone who can keep records accurate, manage core accounting tasks efficiently, and maintain organized financial data in a fast-paced environment. The role requires hands-on experience with bookkeeping processes, strong proficiency in QuickBooks, and the ability to work confidently across payables, receivables, and account reconciliation activities.
Job Responsibility
Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and keeping supporting documentation organized
Process vendor invoices, verify payment details, and ensure accounts payable activities are completed on schedule
Issue invoices, monitor incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable accuracy
Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly
Use QuickBooks to enter, review, and update accounting information while preserving data integrity
Prepare routine financial summaries and spreadsheets to support reporting and operational decision-making
Assist with month-end bookkeeping tasks by reviewing entries and confirming account balances are current
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address billing questions, payment issues, and recordkeeping needs
Requirements
Proven experience handling full-cycle bookkeeping responsibilities in a detail-focused setting
Practical working knowledge of QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting and financial record maintenance
Experience managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with strong attention to detail
Ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and investigate variances effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize and review financial data
Strong numerical accuracy, organizational skills, and a dependable approach to meeting deadlines
Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently in a Contract role
