Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous Bookkeeper to join a thriving retail organization near Pompano Beach, Florida. This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow into a Full-Charge Bookkeeper position, allowing for increased responsibility and skill development. Ideal candidates will have experience in retail accounting and familiarity with Microsoft Business Central or similar systems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate handling of invoices, payments, and customer receipts
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and post adjusting journal entries while assisting in the creation of financial management reports
  • Utilize Microsoft Business Central to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency
  • Oversee retail-specific financial tasks such as sales reporting, inventory tracking, and vendor relationship coordination
  • Collaborate with team members and senior accountants to expand knowledge and transition into full-charge responsibilities
  • Identify discrepancies in financial data and contribute to process improvements
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities with detailed reconciliations and reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of physical and asset inventory
  • Partner with colleagues to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in retail accounting is essential
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central or comparable accounting systems is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and performing reconciliations
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and interpret financial data
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all accounting tasks
  • A growth-oriented mindset, with the willingness to develop skills for a Full-Charge Bookkeeper role
  • Experience with journal entries and preparing financial reports
  • Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
