Job Description:

We are looking for a meticulous Bookkeeper to join a thriving retail organization near Pompano Beach, Florida. This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow into a Full-Charge Bookkeeper position, allowing for increased responsibility and skill development. Ideal candidates will have experience in retail accounting and familiarity with Microsoft Business Central or similar systems.

Job Responsibility:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate handling of invoices, payments, and customer receipts
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts
Prepare and post adjusting journal entries while assisting in the creation of financial management reports
Utilize Microsoft Business Central to streamline accounting workflows and improve efficiency
Oversee retail-specific financial tasks such as sales reporting, inventory tracking, and vendor relationship coordination
Collaborate with team members and senior accountants to expand knowledge and transition into full-charge responsibilities
Identify discrepancies in financial data and contribute to process improvements
Support month-end and year-end closing activities with detailed reconciliations and reporting
Maintain accurate records of physical and asset inventory
Partner with colleagues to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies

Requirements:

Prior experience in retail accounting is essential
Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central or comparable accounting systems is highly preferred
Proficiency in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and performing reconciliations
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and interpret financial data
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all accounting tasks
A growth-oriented mindset, with the willingness to develop skills for a Full-Charge Bookkeeper role
Experience with journal entries and preparing financial reports
Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
