A premier construction development company in Victoria, BC is looking for an experienced, highly organized Full-Charge Bookkeeper / Office Manager to join their dynamic team! Position: Full-Charge Bookkeeper / Office Manager. Opportunity: Full-time. Location: Victoria, BC (On-site). Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 per year (depending on experience).
Job Responsibility
Manage daily full-cycle accounting activities and accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR) to ensure all financial records align with GAAP standards
Perform accurate monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
Process regular payroll, calculate and remit source deductions accurately, and prepare necessary year-end documents for the external accountant
Manage reporting and compliance with WorkSafeBC, ensuring correct classifications and timely submissions
Act as a professional liaison, handling daily email and phone communication with sub-contractors, homeowners, vendors, and external partners
Deliver administrative assistance to leadership and managers on ad-hoc projects as needed
Requirements
Minimum of 3–5 years of proven full-cycle bookkeeping experience
Experience navigating BC employment standards and WorkSafeBC regulations is highly desirable
Certificate, diploma, or degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or equivalent field experience
Advanced hands-on proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop preferred) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data management)
Strong overall capability with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
A rock-solid, foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proven ability to structure, prioritize, and self-manage a heavy workload independently with minimal supervision
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
