Job Description:

We are looking for a bilingual Bookkeeper to support daily financial and administrative operations for a member-focused benefits organization in California. This contract-to-permanent position is ideal for someone who is comfortable balancing accurate recordkeeping, office support, and direct member interaction in both Spanish and English. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment when resolving discrepancies, and a thoughtful approach to assisting members with benefit-related questions. This is an onsite opportunity with long-term potential.

Job Responsibility:

  • Enter and maintain high volumes of financial and member-related information with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Review records carefully, identify inconsistencies, and take appropriate steps to correct or escalate issues
  • Assist with routine bookkeeping tasks, including support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related financial documentation
  • Perform general office and clerical duties to help keep daily operations organized and efficient
  • Communicate clearly with members in both Spanish and English, whether assisting visitors in person or responding to questions
  • Explain benefit offerings and plan guidelines in a way that is clear, thorough, and easy for members to understand
  • Provide courteous front-line customer service while helping members navigate requests and documentation needs
  • Work closely with the current team during the training period to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is required for daily communication with members and staff
  • At least 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, administrative support, or a closely related office role
  • Strong data entry skills with the ability to work accurately in a high-volume environment
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues efficiently
  • Experience supporting bookkeeping functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Proficiency with accounting software
  • experience with Sage is preferred, and QuickBooks knowledge is also valuable
  • Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and a detail-oriented customer service approach
