Job Description

We are looking for a Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day accounting operations for our real estate team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records, managing routine transactions, and keeping reporting processes on track. The Bookkeeper will contribute to core finance activities while partnering with management on special assignments as needed.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee general ledger activity and verify that financial information is recorded accurately and consistently
  • Manage incoming invoices, outgoing payments, customer billing, collections, and payroll processing in a timely manner
  • Prepare and record recurring and non-routine journal entries to support monthly accounting activity
  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Support month-end and year-end close tasks by compiling data, reviewing entries, and helping finalize financial records
  • Maintain organized accounting documentation and keep financial files current, accessible, and audit-ready
  • Provide administrative support during contract-related discussions and assist with financial details when requested
  • Contribute to special projects and handle additional accounting or office duties assigned by leadership

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a closely related administrative finance role
  • Demonstrated accuracy and careful attention to detail when handling financial data and transactions
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and balance multiple priorities
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft, including Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and troubleshoot routine accounting issues effectively
  • Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
