Job Description

Take your boilermaking skills underground and play a key role maintaining critical paste reticulation systems in a dynamic mining environment! We're seeking experienced Underground Boilermakers to join our team, specialising in paste reticulation systems and underground fixed plant maintenance within Western Australia. This role plays a key part in keeping critical mining operations running safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibility

  • Fabricate, weld, and install steel structures, piping, and equipment in underground mining environments
  • Maintain and repair paste reticulation systems
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance, inspections, and breakdown repairs on underground fixed plant
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications
  • Carry out welding, cutting, and fabrication to support underground operations
  • Identify and report hazards, defects, or potential failures to supervisors in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to minimise downtime and maximise production
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Pastefill Coordinator

Requirements

  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in Boiler making / Metal Fabrication
  • Experience working in underground mining or heavy industrial environments
  • Proficiency in MMA and MIG welding and fabrication
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Current manual driver's license (HR/MC desirable)
  • National Police Clearance is required prior to background checks commencing
  • Strong commitment to safety and hazard management in underground environments
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to maintenance

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated experience with paste reticulation systems or similar piping/infrastructure is desirable
  • Confined Space, Working at Heights, and EWP tickets desirable
